Sardines Boutique
Branding identity for a sneaker boutique based on packaging of canned sardines.

The project was sparked from an idea of how can a sneaker store incorporate food packaging into their branding. Non-perishable food packaging focuses on the preservation, shipping, and displaying of a product. Sardines is the result of applying canned food packaging to sneaker packaging.
Objective: Design a branding identity for a sneaker boutique based on packaging of canned sardines.
Ideation
Exploration of the logo started with several different versions of a fish and sneaker drawing. It started with a simple outline of a fish and progressed through several ideations and designs. A single shoelace inter-looping to create a fish outline was the most favorable concept. This was then refined with a complementary typeface that created a cohesive lock up.
Designed with a playful idea of fish and shoes, the simple drawing of the sardine is created with subtle shoelace strings to delight viewers upon noticing the attention to detail.
Brand Application
The packaging of Sardines consist of reimagining the shoebox as a can of sardines. Shoes are kept “fresh” and preserved in each brand’s style guidelines. The Sardines campaign will also include a sneaker food truck that features both daily food and exclusive sneaker specials .
